Eaton Corporation Product Line Manager, APAC in Singapore, China
The Product Line Manager will be responsible for Global product development for Distributed Power Quality (DPQ) market, developing and executing go-to-market strategies and programs with DPQ product global-wide. This person will manage a team of product marketing professionals to achieve profit plan goals and drive market share gains by supporting global DPQ product development including driving the strategy global to attack the tier-2/essential market. This person will provide the necessary leadership to achieve market outgrowth of new and existing products. The Product Line Manager is responsible for managing the $450 million portfolio of DPQ products.
The Product Line Manager will work closely with the leadership of sales, commercial marketing, marketing communications, operations and channel partners to communicate and promote Eaton’s products, technologies and services. Taking also a leadership role on a global basis especially on engineering and product management with the core engineering team in APAC. He/she will be an expert in their assigned channels and markets and understand key influencers that drive purchasing decisions.
Lead the development of launch plans and programs to drive market adoption of new products and services including UPSs of series 3, 5, 9, office surge suppressors, rackmount PDUs, rackmount ATS, for the Eaton brand and CPQ and OEM accounts.
Lead the global new product development with the APAC based engineering team.
Lead the development of setting go-to-market strategy for each product and market segment providing guidance to commercial marketing team and deployment of the strategy.
Analyze market pricing and propose price positioning for new products.
Implement marketing programs to drive volume significantly up to gain market share while reducing the cost of acquisition of new customers.
Constantly identifying business opportunities, market segment, application for existing products and new products.
Manage a team of product marketing managers to develop new markets/channels, drive product positioning, and execute product marketing programs to achieve profit plan. Provide the necessary leadership to achieve market outgrowth of new and existing products.
Drive sales of UPS and PDU products and solutions to meet business unit revenue and margin objectives across the APAC.
Define strategy to collect win and loss analysis to understand key decision criteria and opportunities for improvement.
Perform periodic reviews of competitors’ products, positioning, channel strategy and price/cost positions to determine key opportunities and selling strategies.
Interface with other PQ operations in Asia and EMEA to elaborate the global roadmap.
Work closely with engineering to execute product road map and deliver key products and features to market in a timely manner.
Work closely with DPQ GPL and act as the APAC product representative for APAC requirements.
10 years of overall business experience
International education background with Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or marketing from an accredited educational institution. Masters Business Administration from an accredited educational institution is a strong plus.
Strategic thinking and broad global business acumen with 3 years’ above international working experience is preferred.
Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and external customers.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong commercial presence, negotiation skills, marketing acumen and business savvy.
Strong customer and business development skills with track record of developing strong customer relationships.
Capable of conducting market research to understand customer needs.
Strong data analytics capabilities and ability to manage a product portfolio P&L.
Able to multitask, complete projects with tight deadlines and proven product management experience.
Must be experienced in competitive benchmarking of features and price, new product requirement definition, business plan development, value proposition development, new product launch, forecasting.
Proven experience to lead effectively in a matrix organization, in virtual teams (across different locations), and cross-cultural environments.
Good at learning, articulating, and supporting complex products and technologies. Possess balanced technical and commercial acumen.
Good at effectively interacting with others, establishing open, candid, and trusting relationships.
Capable of influencing others through utilization of leadership skills.
Demonstrated strategic thinking capability, including seeing the big picture and motivating others towards common goals.
Flexible for up to 50% of travelling domestically and internationally.
Preferably having prior experience with UPS / power distribution systems & services, channel and/or OEM sales, or IT industry.
