Eaton Corporation’s Power Quality Division designs Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, batteries, and electronic based products to ensure reliability in the most demanding applications. UPS systems condition power to protect against power quality hazards, as well as provide continuous backup power during outages. Like an automobile, UPS systems require preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

This position will be responsible for servicing electrical (high voltage environment) Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems, batteries and electronic based products at the customer site. Performs emergency and preventative maintenance and installation on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility. Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing, and repair and/or installation of company products to include uninterruptible power supplies and batteries. Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Serves as customer contact on technical and service related problems.

This position is also responsible for supervising electrical trainee’ while performing on-site or in-house servicing, and repair of Company product(s). This role will be responsible for logging and certifying the hours of the Washington State Electrical trainees working under his/her supervision. This role is responsible for collaborating with the Electrical Administrator to insure that the electrical workers are following the Washington State Laws as stated in the NEC Codes and Washington State RCW’s. This role is also responsible for assisting Electrical Administrator in the training of all electrical trainees to achieve their 07e, 07, or 01 Journeyman electrical license in the State of Washington.

This position will be located remotely and will work out of a home office within the immediate geographic area.

The selected candidate will perform the following duties.

  • Analyzes test data and recognize deviation from acceptable values

  • Manages company assets, controls personal inventory, and uploads all field activity reports

  • Completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner

  • Takes ownership of an assigned task and see it through to a successful completion

  • Responsible to meet annual goals set forth by Management (utilizations, work completions, etc.)

  • Provides ongoing customer interaction and meets customer service requirements

  • Assist sales personnel with job walks to determine manpower requirements and special site requirements.

  • Supervise electrical trainee’ while performing on-site or in-house servicing, and repair of Company product(s). Log and certify hours of the Washington State Electrical trainees working under his/her supervision

  • Collaborate with the Electrical Administrator to insure that the electrical workers are following the Washington State Laws as stated in the NEC Codes and Washington State RCW’s

  • Performs other duties as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Must hold and maintain a Washington State 07E,07,0R 01 Journeyman Electrical License.

  • Valid and unrestricted State Driver's license

  • Must have ability and willingness undergo and pass customer entrance requirements, which may include, but is not limited to, periodic background checks and drug screenings.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

  • At this time, relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only local candidates within the immediate geographic area of Seattle, WA will be considered.

Position Criteria

  • Ability to read schematics drawings and company technical publications

  • Ability to read electrical drawings and knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques

  • Ability to work with other CSEs and take directions from the lead CSE on site

  • Good understanding of single phase and three-phase circuit theory, analog and digital electronic circuit theory and microprocessor controls and programming

  • Understand how to use Oscilloscope

  • Understand how to perform phase rotation and phase alignment checks

  • Basic understanding of network functionality and sealed and wet celled battery theory and application.

  • Understand the proper use of hand-tools, and when it is appropriate to use insulated tools

  • Understand need for safety, and comply with company and customer rules on safety

  • Must demonstrate proficiency on products and field processes before being dispatched to the field

  • Must be trained and certified on at least 4 different models of UPS

  • Strong time management skills, attentive to details, and a focus on customer satisfaction

  • Must provide high quality of service

  • Self-starter and motivator.

  • PC Proficiency including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, and Outlook

  • Proven/Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent customer relations skills

  • Ability to train and mentor new UPS CSEs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of power systems, battery technologies, or electronics experience.

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field from an accredited school and/or equivalent experience in a technical field.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
