Eaton Corporation Plant Manager in Reno, Nevada

Eaton’s B-Line Division is seeking a Plant Manager for the Reno, NV facility.

Position Overview:

This exceptional leader will hold responsibility for profitability, safety, quality, productivity, materials management, delivery, training and continuous improvements. The Plant Manager will hold the key leadership role and responsibility for the above areas. They will provide oversight for all capital requirements and will be directly responsible for implementation and financial accountability.

As the Plant Manager, you will lead and coordinate, in accordance with Company policies and Division procedures, the Plant Line and Staff organizations so that production, quality and quantity requirements are met, costs are within budgetary standards, and best manufacturing practices are utilized in the maintenance and conservation of equipment and facilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Build a Safe place to work by eliminating risk in his site and building a safety and environmental culture within employees by deploying Management of Environmental Safety and Health (MESH) processes and tools.

  • Make the plant a great place to work through developing employee engagement, managerial effectiveness, and enabling performance effectiveness through positive culture change.

  • Provide vision, strategy, and leadership for plant operations to achieve goals and excel in High Five leading and lagging indicators (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity).

  • Set a road map for moving the Plant to be a World Class Site by leveraging Eaton Business Systems (EBS) Tools.

  • Establishes interfaces with Divisional/Corporate management to assess customer needs and assures accurate project or program technical direction for operations engineering and manufacturing

  • Assures timely and relevant communications to and from all levels including assuring communications between affected reporting areas and to related departments.

  • Responsible for establishing systems that would enhance intra- and inter-departmental communications.

  • Coaches, develop, and mentors direct staff; Conducts performance reviews, develops growth plans, interprets implements and supports employee-related policies, procedures and programs and assigns projects/tasks to direct staff.

  • Initiates and implements actions to maximize profits by containing expenses through improved operating and cost efficiencies. Develops, approves, and meets financial budgets, plans, and updates.

  • Assists in establishing and implementing site direction and strategies.

  • Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts.

  • Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets.

  • Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.

  • Ensure attainment of business objectives and productions schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.

  • Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Eaton strategic initiatives.

  • Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need. Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving.

  • Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes. Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies.

  • Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume.

  • Work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees’ positive involvement with opportunity for construction input and action.

  • Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues (target of zero lost time accidents) and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution required

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior Manufacturing Leadership experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Master’s Degree

  • Experience with various rotations in Operations (Quality, Production, Engineering, Safety, etc.)

  • 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing leadership

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma – certification preferred

  • Prior experience leading engagement and employee morale initiatives

  • Collaborative leadership style and ability to lead and develop teams

  • Bilingual in Spanish

  • Process oriented
