Job Description Eaton Corporation, a diversified industrial manufacturer, has an opening for a Quality Engineer at its Clutch assembly facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Quality Engineer reports directly to the Quality Manager. The primary purpose of this position is to perform Quality Engineering functions for the Charlotte facility and to direct the facility in the effort to develop, implement, and maintain world-class quality systems that ensure reduction in the cost of quality and that meet/exceed customer requirements.

• Lead structured team problem solving efforts to resolve internal/external issues using 8-D methodology.
• Drive Continuous Improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) utilizing Eaton Quality System (EQS) policies.
• Responsible for the implementation and deployment of actions to ensure compliance with TS 16949, customer specific requirements, and all regulatory requirements.
• Assists in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing department and plant goals. Drive Continuous Improvement and Error Proofing through the implementation of six sigma/lean production methodology. Promote and verify preventive and corrective action.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality and customer requirements.
• Deploy Control Plans &amp; other Quality Documents based on Customer Characteristics and Special Requirements.
• Responsible for the reduction of internal &amp; customer PPM, Rework Scrap and FPY.
• Responsible for SPC, MSA, Instrument Calibration, Gage and Master Design, Gage and Master Calibration.
• Lead PPAP activity, assist and provide quality support to APQP when relevant files and samples are being prepared
• Manage an intensive and robust audit program on critical areas to improve product quality.
• Develop, implement, maintain and report data from a plant-wide data collection program, including review of data collection methods and applicability of data to operator control.
• Manage any necessary containment and sort activities
• Provide quality training to instill a quality minded culture.


Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and lean concepts and process (Six Sigma Greenbelt, ASQ Certification)
• Knowledge of statistics and statistical process control, including gage repeatability and reproducibility studies.
• Assembly processes and the flow of material through a plant.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications (GD&amp;T)
• Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis, problem solving methods, ISO/TS criteria, and EQS criteria.
• Knowledge of Metrology, (including CMM application and programming preferred)
• Automotive experience.
• Trained internal auditor (TS16949 or FEA)

Job Description The primary function of the Senior Quality Engineer is to provide leadership and guidance to cross functional work teams to promote process improvements that include preventive actions and corrective actions. Experience using PC configured with MS Windows OS. Familiarity with MS Office software is desired.

Job Description Eaton Aerospace at Titchfield have an opening for a Senior Quality Engineer to work within a busy Quality department.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for executing the defined Strategic Quality Plan in conjunction with plant leadership. Provides quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, partners and internal manufacturing cells and participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas. Executes the Quality Assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.

Job responsibilities:

A. Provides Quality customer interface and expertise to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including assisting in complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action determination
B. Supports Supply Chain Management organization relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data providing expertise and assists suppliers with product and process quality requirements
C. Executes the development, implementation, and improvement of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, providing advanced quality planning support in the development and launch of new products, processes and services
D. Participates in, and may lead, the auditing of internal Quality Systems and completes part approval documentation to assure that customer requirements are met in new or modified products and processes
E. Analyzes organizational quality metrics and performs periodic reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level
F. Develops and analyzes statistical data and product/process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas
G. Contributes in the design and implementation of quality assurance training programs and conducts training in quality-related topics
H. Participates in product development and launch activities including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, material testing.
I. Provides support, and may lead an improvement team, in the development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits
J. Develops, implements, and audits complex inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions
K. Investigates and eliminates causes of complex or multi-dimensional quality problems and follows up on corrective actions
L. Participates in the design, procurement, maintenance, and evaluation of gages, measurement instruments, devices and test equipment
M Coordinates with multiple Quality Engineers to prepare consolidated plant, customer, and product status information and action plans
N At times may be asked to supervise and direct tasks of other Quality Engineers
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) • Thorough understanding of problem solving methods-i.e. Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.
• Knowledge and understanding of Eaton’s corporate Supplier Quality Assurance requirements
• Detailed understanding of the key phases and requirements of an effective new product development and launch methodology
• Detailed knowledge of industry and customer specific quality registration schemes and certification processes (i.e., ISO9001, ISO/TS-16949, AS9100 etc).
• Detailed knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to process/product variability, and root cause and corrective action determination.
• Detailed knowledge of product and end user application/specifications, including product testing requirements. (design/process interface)
• Thorough knowledge of gauging and basic understanding of product material properties
• Thorough understanding of engineering design and product reliability concepts and tool sets
• Ability to Supervise and direct other departmental personnel for specified tasks assigned by management
• Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams

Job Description Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles, CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for a Sr. Quality Engineer. Responsible for performing Quality Engineering duties related to support of hydraulic products fabrication, assembly, and test.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assessing and developing internal capabilities in compliance with management, customer and agency goals and objectives.
Developing and improving system and process performance feedback using trend, Pareto and other quality tools.
Leading cross-functional teams in solving chronic system problems or product nonconformances.
Providing a customer interface with respect to quality issues.
Controlling nonconforming material in accordance with Eaton procedures.
Flowing down of external/internal quality requirements to all functions.
Performing verification and validation of new designs using compliance matrices, 1st articles, capability studies, DFMEA and PFMEA to ensure compliance to customer requirements and producibility standards.
Providing technical direction to Internal Auditors to verify compliance Eaton requirements.
Developing advanced quality planning with respect to Eaton and customer requirements. Ensuring compliance with quality requirements in product development gate review meetings.
Supporting and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Supporting the development of test fixtures, inspection fixtures, and determination of gaging needs.
Supporting internal audit requirements in accordance with Eaton procedures.
Developing and maintaining quality work instructions and procedures.
Achieving objectives as detailed by Quality Management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred experience in Aerospace electromechanical or hydraulic systems required.

Experience with FRACAS and reliability reporting is a plus.
Experience in contract review, Quality Planning, failure analysis and corrective action.
Familiar with major Aerospace primes Quality System, as well as working knowledge of AS9100. Working knowledge of Six Sigma tools.
CQE preferred
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years Quality Engineering experience working with quality systems.

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Technical or Business.
