Eaton Corporation Lead Analyst - BE & Projects in Pune, India

This position is responsible for determining how to configure, maintain and support Eaton’s tax compliance requirements enabled by the Oracle financial system. This includes Oracle EB tax configurations, withholding tax customizations, Vertex rate updates, Oracle / TAXi tax reporting, and the interaction of tax requirements with the secondary / statutory books via Oracle sub leger accounting (SLA) configurations, account generator, etc. The Tax department continues to be responsible for Eaton’s overall tax compliance. In contrast, this position is focused on satisfying tax requirements from an Oracle financial system perspective. Extensive knowledge of Oracle at a technical level, as well as functional knowledge of related financial shared services such as AR, AP, PO, and I/C accounting, is required by this position.

In addition, this individual will manage significant improvement and productivity projects where they will be responsible for the design and support of technology and communications platforms within the SSC function on a global basis.

Tax Configuration

a) Works with the tax department, financial shared services teams (OTC, PTP, and RTR), IT, and outside vendors to coordinate the configuration, development, and testing of new tax rate and law changes.

b) Ensures software issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner by consulting with shared services teams, end users, IT, and outside vendors to troubleshoot tax issues and defects in the financial systems.

c) Researches vendor provided country solutions for resolution to identified statutory reporting requirements

d) Maintains system tax configurations and documentation such as BR100 setups and MD50 custom objects (forms, reports, interfaces, conversions, extensions, workflows).

Op Ex

a) Monitors outstanding service requests and application patches. Plans and evaluates associated pre-implementation testing.

b) Manages projects and completes business analysis using PROLaunch for BPS, Eaton’s project management methodology. Writes business requirements, communication plans, test plans and project plans.

c) Researches and recommends solutions for identified business needs

d) Aligns and manages internal SSC and external resources, including SSC customers, IT staff and software vendors.

e) Coordinates projects, support and communications across disciplines and countries to establish standard systems and processes.

f) Identifies, researches, and resolves issues within the various technology platforms in conjunction with internal and external resources. Establishes and tracks metrics, as well as benchmarking, for improvement.

g) Manages, improves and champions the management of innovation across the SSCs

h) Assists the Operational Excellence team with facilitation of LEAN events, quality initiatives and research of best practices.

i) Supports and leads Finance and SSC projects and initiatives


Describe any specialized knowledge or skill (e.g., technical, scientific, administrative, managerial) which your position requires.

• MBA (Finance)/M.Com/ B.Com, with minimum of 7-8 years of experience

• Oracle R12 E-Business Suite Financial Modules knowledge including configuration and implementation of Oracle EB tax, withholding tax and Vertex.

• Project Management with expertise in phase-gate management (Prolaunch)

• Captive / Multinational service industry or Oracle implementation experience is essential

• Ability to lead and work with large customer base and Teams

• Good Presentation skills

• Good with MS Office suite

• Analytical skills and a problem solver attitude

• Willingness to work in a matrix driven environment

• There will be a need for travel on company business as operationally required and the need to work the US shift on occasion

• Experience successfully collaborating and productively interacting with a wide variety of cultures including outsource providers is essential.

• Ability to work effectively with other managers internal and external as required

• Knowledge of quality tools and approaches, necessary to establish the process improvement culture
