This position is with Eaton Corporation's Vehicle Group Division, whch has three VG plants in Ranjangaon,Nasik and Nagar and a Global sourcing office in Pune.
Job Description :
a.Understand the Commodity requirements of Eaton globally.
b.Understand the Commodity levers in Indian Market in details and plan for maximum utilization.
c.Plays the role of Promoter for the commodities assigned . Identifies the competencies and the gaps of the commodity suppliers in the region and work for the supply base improvement – with a clear goal of maximizing the spend from the regional supply base for global Eaton requirements.
d.Identify, evaluate and finalize suppliers based on the Commodity requirements.
e.Conduct supplier assessment and product feasibility study with suppliers prior to outsourcing products and awarding business
f. Develop detailed elemental cost sheets for each part in the related commodity.
g.Develop, Support and Monitor the Total Cost of Ownership for all parts in the assigned commodities.
h.Monitor commodity movements in the related market and develop neutralizing strategies.
i.Perform activities of Purchasing Functions with responsibility for obtaining Material, Equipments & Services at competitive prices & satisfactory quality levels through selection of quality Vendors.
j.Own the commercials and Capacity for On time delivery for the assigned commodities .
k.Negotiate with the supplier using structured process and in elemental details for maximizing Eaton’s value, while following the principle of win-win.
l.Develop strong Supplier - Eaton relationship with a partnership concept.
m.Establish and monitor capacity for each supplier and part combinations. Manage up and down turn in requirements.
n.Monitor production requirement and supply performance against schedules.
o.Co-Own the Project Monitoring with the SDE till the time of stabilization of the new part and complete handover to Materials.
p.Maintain global communication for leveraging supplier cost competitiveness and global sourcing opportunities.
q.Work along with SDE for capacity improvement and cost reduction , Including identifying new mfg technologies.
r.Implementation and adherence to the Eaton Business System related to SCM Function.
s.Demonstrate very high level of Integrity and Drive compliance to the Eaton Code of Ethics and hold suppliers accountable for ethical conduct in all the transactions.
t.Adherence to regulatory requirements and governance.
u.Develop and maintain a high performance culture focused on continuous improvement and change.
v.Develop a strong communication system to get the organization engaged in meeting the goals.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Education: B.E. (Mechaniocal)
Experience: Seven or more yrs. in a production/manufacturing environment that included contact with suppliers. In-depth knowledge of costing practices, capacity assessment, negotiations.
Training : Negotiation skills, costing techniques (Multi-lingual capabilities Chinese, Portuguese would be of great benefit ).
