Eaton Corporation Analyst - BI in Pune, India

• Working in conjunction with Local SCM / Finance Controllers from each Ledger globally.

• Classify Supplier Names according to Indirect Material and Services and remove Direct Material and Logistics from Indirect master file

• Categorize Supplier Names according to product/service they supply e.g. Maintenance & Repair / IT & Telecoms etc.

• Supplier Rationalization: Shut down Suppliers where no purchases made in prior 2 years or applicable rules

• Update & maintenance of Supplier Master File which is used for pulling spend for reporting purposes (White Book) and other various systems or platforms

• Keep track of metrics and complete the weekly dashboard to report on items achieved versus goals. By Category and region to include active base, supplier adds, supplier deactivations, re-classifications and re-categorizations

• Understand processes and standards to effectively and accurately cleanse Supplier data with reference to defined KPI’s.

• Use various websites, including but not limited to Google, Dun & Bradstreet etc., to search for Supplier details (category, classifications) and liaise with appropriate contacts in Local Ledgers and Gatekeepers to confirm data

• Create, update & validate Process documents of standard work carried out

• Support in Project Management

• Participation in business calls and meetings

Functional Knowledge:

• Excellent data analysis skills. Ability to understand data in its wider context and in handling large data sets with ability to convert it in to meaningful information

• Comfortable with unstructured data/facts with ability to synthesize into comprehensible and insightful information

• Assist in managing reporting; timely and accurate extracting and compiling of data from multiple SCM data systems and tools

• Liaise with plants to ensure compliance and effectiveness around the supplier master file maintenance process in Oracle and local ERP systems

• Supporting the processes around Supplier Master File (SMF) maintenance and understanding the impact and relationship between the SMF, Supplier Data, Accounts Payable and spend reporting

• Critically review key process steps for potential improvements & automation aiming at integrity of data systems & tools. This includes but is not limited to supporting the team to improve the effectiveness of data and tools/systems in use

• Use analytical skills to detect errors upfront in any information received before processing further

• Proactive in detecting and resolving problems and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Timely escalation of issues whenever necessary

Specialized Knowledge:

• Expertise in MS-Office and MS Access

• Ability to co-ordinate with different functional heads/personnel as per the need and ability to take on other tasks as assigned from time to time

• Experience in data processing/management and reporting. Significant time in customer-facing roles; or equivalent experience

• Knowledge of Supply Chain and Purchasing-Finance Reporting systems at an administrator level is preferred

• Exposure to sourcing and procurement related modules of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) or business intelligence tools such as QlikView, Tableau, Power BI etc. a distinct advantage

QualificationsQualification:

• Masters with 3 to 5 year experience or Bachelors with 2 to 3 year experience.

Medium Knowledge (Intermediate):

• Knowledge on Cost out savings and utilities

• Use of SharePoint for Data Management

Advance Knowledge (Expert):

• Working knowledge on SCM processes

• Advance Data Management using Excel (Formulas, Filtering, Charts, Pivot, Vlookup, Data Validation, Conditional Formatting, Macro recording, Text/Logical / nested Functions etc.)

• Database management skills (MS Access expert)

• Able to understand the context of data used in reporting

• Strategic view on development and usage of the reports

• Expert in developing new reports, dashboards & databases

• Understand linkages of data across different data set/reports

• Able to link the reports to the relevant business process

• Break down of data sets into meaningful interpretations

• Data Mining through various ERPs

• Knowledge of various systems hosting different kind of data

• Advanced Presentation skill (Power Point)

• Should have experience of process or report transition

• Expert in process documentation (SOPs, SIPOC, Process Flow etc.)
