Eaton has an immediate opening for an Engineering Manager in Pewaukee, WI.
The Pewaukee LIP Engineering Manger roles has responsibility for the Dielectric and Mechanical test facilities (Link Lab), Rubber Insulation Production, Center of Excellence Engineering, and NPD Teams. This role provides strategic and tactical technical support for multiple product portfolios including Molded Rubber Products, Epoxy Molded Products, Air Switches, Cutout Fuse Assemblies, Fusing, Faulted Circuit Indicators, and Pole Line Hardware. Reporting to the Product Line Manager and partnering with Product Managers, the Engineering Manager will have co-ownership of this portfolio of products including Technology Roadmaps.
Provides oversight for the dielectric and mechanical test laboratory personnel and equipment located at the Pewaukee facility. This also includes oversight of the NPD prototype areas within Pewaukee.
Directs NPD team in execution of growth programs and development / maintenance of Product and Technology Roadmaps. Champions best practice program management processes within the team.
Coordinate Innovation sessions to drive NPD growth ideas.
Support VAVE deck building and project execution as required and prioritized by the PLM / Business.
Resolve high visibility MOL quality issues as they occur.
Leads and coordinates Standards Participation to align with Product Roadmaps and existing product needs. Coordinates associated roles and travel.
Supports annual Profit Planning through expense budget recommendations for NPD and Facility needs.
Maintains capital spending budgets and makes capital recommendations to maintain Development Labs as well as Pewaukee Facility needs.
Supports cross PSD processes & initiatives such as DFSS, PRE-Launch, PRO-Launch, Road-mapping & Waterline.
Support and provide primary input into annual Organizational Capability Assessments. Represents not only direct/indirect staff at Pewaukee but also functional reports located in Queretaro, MX.
Ownership of lab safety protocols and processes.
Encourage and cultivate innovation activities in support of product portfolios with a focus on growth of revenue.
Champion organizational R&D needs including specific headcount and expense dollars to execute growth and cost out projects. Identify and consolidate NPD capital required for project execution.
Provide Functional Engineering oversight of Assembled Products OEM and Fuse Engineering teams located in Pewaukee as well as located in Queretaro.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the application or design of electrical distribution products
Minimum of 3 years of engineering leadership experience
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
Electrical apparatus design and application knowledge & experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
Working knowledge of electrical testing standards, procedures, and PSD products
Familiarity with Standards Participation groups and rule making
Familiarity with Intellectual Property management
Experience managing significant expense and capital budgets
5+ years of experience with New Product and/or Advanced Development practices
Knowledge of contemporary office suite – MS Office, MS Project, SAP, cProjects
Familiarity with PSD Key Work Processes – Portfolio Management, Project Management, DGC
Willing and able to travel up to 10%
