Global Sourcing Manager
Location: Sutton - UK
Provides direct management & indirect matrix management of the entire HAC procurement team on all aspects related to the sourcing of materials to fulfill customers’ needs in the most efficient and profitable way specifically achieving year on year budgeted improvements with regards to:
Material cost productivity from material economics, best cost sourcing & cost reduction activities
Optimal operating working capital position
Establishing world class S-OTD, lead-times, Supplier quality & PPV from the supplier base
Inventory values and DOH
Establish and maintain effective relationships with the company’s suppliers and internal customers in accordance with the ethical code of conduct maintaining the highest level of professionalism at all times
Collaborate with key stakeholders in order to identify and execute cost reduction opportunities and supply chain risk contributing to the implementations of VAVE, Lean Manufacturing, Lean Supply Chain and Six Sigma methodology in all plants.
Perform supplier performance appraisals and facilitate regular business review meetings with selected suppliers ensuring needed sourcing capacity, resources and systems are available
Negotiate and implement commercial agreements with suppliers ensuring that the company is appropriately protected and trading conditions are optimized
Produce detailed analysis of spend data and define HAC sourcing strategy in collaboration with Crouse-Hinds and Eaton sourcing teams where relevant
Conduct formal market testing exercises as part of a continuous commercial review process (RFI/RFP)
Supports and develops operating procedures and training of Strategic
Sourcing work standards focused on best practices continually seeking and identifying areas for improvement, in line with the strategic direction of the purchasing organization with a view to improving service levels to customers
Keeps informed on all laws & regulations affecting purchasing & delivery of items procured.
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, or Engineering from an accredited institution
10 years of experience in a manufacturing operations environment.
Sourcing and management experience across multiple sites; including buying practices, MRO, contract administration
Experience of production planning, materials management and global sourcing
Experience and understanding of manufacturing systems, particularly MRP and JIT
Experience with supplier quality assurance and supplier capability audits; including knowledge of PPAP, DOE, FMEA.
Must be able to work within the EU without company sponsorship, now and in the future
The incumbent must possess a strong sense of urgency, ownership and effective communication skills
Travel is required 10% of the time
Demonstrable track record of successful supplier selection and development
Demonstrable record of continuous improvement in sourcing KPI’s
ISO Audit Experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of SAP system, concentrated in purchasing roles and transactions
