Eaton Corporation Controller-Electrical Sector in Moon Township, Pennsylvania
The Controller- Electrical Sector will provide leadership to the sector's finance organization in conforming to corporate financial policies, legal requirements and GAAP. He/ she will drive process improvements within the finance organization, as well as create and implement policies and procedures to improve the control environment and provide increased transparency of results.This role will lead key parts of the sector finance organization – ELC, SOX, ESIST, Government accounting. As well as be the key interface with Corporate Accounting and E&Y for the sector.
Additional Key Responsibilities:
Oversee SOX team responsibilities: Manage DSAs & narratives, lead management validations, field and remote.
Oversee Entity Level Control (ELC) team responsibilities: Monitoring control process management – plan the process and execute reviews; Interface with SOX team, Internal Audit and E&Y.
Lead sector wide finance effectiveness and efficiency efforts.
Responsible for Technical Accounting & Disclosure: Interface with corporate accounting for operations, on technical issues and compliance.
Manage rollout of new revenue recognition and lease standards including participation on Steering Committees; create, monitor, update and roll-out accounting policy changes for the sector; report and Interface with Corporate Steering Committee (ICPO).
Intercompany Account Balancing: Oversee ESIST team and process.
Responsible for other areas of compliance: manage 2nd level balance sheet review process; physical inventory tracking; burden rate review tracking; consolidate sector level letters of representation (LORs).
Global trade management interface; oversee management of Encore tree including approval of all new ledgers.
Lead government accounting team: Manage team for sector-wide government accounting compliance and reporting on individual contracts.
Internal audit and E&Y interface and lead contact, report and interface with disclosure committee.
Lead for Finance Leadership Development Program.
IT program interface for all major programs.
Manage Anticipatory Hedging Program.
Interface with Treasury on monthly flash calls and other relevant topics.
Bachelor of Science degree in Finance or Accounting.
10 years of broad financial experience within manufacturing organizations.
Masters degree or CPA preferred.
Auditing or technical accounting background also preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
Ability to operate across, and influence within, a complex matrixed global organizational structure.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
Pronouncements of external regulatory bodies, such as Financial Accounting Standards Board, SEC, IRS, IASB, etc.
International experience across financial disciplines, i.e., tax strategies, transfer pricing, currency hedging, statutory reporting, legal entity implications, etc.
Ability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial and operations analyses/reports.
Broad general business knowledge.
Working knowledge of financial and ERP systems.
General knowledge of all functional areas of the Group, Sector and Corporate organizations.
Working knowledge of sourcing and manufacturing practices followed by Operations staff.
