F. Make disposition, as a member of material review board, on discrepant material - manufactured and purchased.

G. Prepare RFQ’s for equipment and or tooling, select the most appropriate and originate requisitions accordingly.

H. Provide technical direction to aid in the training of direct labor, indirect labor, and office personnel.

I. Communicate proposed or pending changes to other departments as necessary in order to implement them with minimal problems and in a timely manner.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Education: BS Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Prior Co-op/Intern experience in a manufacturing setting desired.

Critical Skills: CNC programming, preferably with macro variables, flow and process engineering, tooling and fixture design, LEAN Mfg. concepts, project management

8.Equipment: Serve as a liaison between machine tool manufacturer and shop employees during new equipment start-up. Recommend and review new equipment purchases and plant layout to improve production. Evaluate new equipment run-off and current equipment performance using SPC. Edit programs as needed for equipment to meet part specifications.
9.Training: Provide and implement training that will enable personnel to better perform their departmental functions as needed.
10.Cost saving: Initiate and formalize cost savings at both plant and division levels. Lead the production and tooling costs reduction and set-up cost reduction. Productive management of Capital programs and expenditures.

Job Description Eaton's Aerospace Group located in Euclid, OH has an opening for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer.

This position will serve as the liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and related groups of functions including floor follow-up, set-up reduction, Kaizen events, and supplier interface. Work continuous improvement projects that support the Lean Manufacturing methodology.

Critical for success in this role is the ability to:

• Develop and prepare complete manufacturing processes for product hardware of above average complexity in order to meet/exceed the departmental goals of L.U., MPS, and scrap and lead time.
• Determine all tooling, gauging, and equipment requirements
• Design and implement cutting tools, fixtures, and gages for manufacturing and assembly operations
• Provide support to floor issues with respect to all manufacturing and assembly areas
• Work continuous improvement projects, set-up reduction, TPM, 5S that support the Lean Manufacturing methodology
• Support new program development and ‘Design for Manufacturability’ reviews
• Participate in the procurement and start-up of new capital equipment
• Generate part programs for 2/4 and 5 axis N/C lathes and machining centers. Selects all tooling required, provide set-up procedures and technical support
• Maintain existing and create new CMM programs

Primary Function:
Under the direction of the Manager, Manufacturing Information, this position is responsible for providing hands-on implementation of all manufacturing engineering activities required to support production.  This position is responsible to work on complex projects in the development of methods and processes; research and offer solutions to resolve problems; recommend capital purchases; determine the best utilization of equipment, facilities, material flow and personnel; investigate and trouble shoot technical problems; prepare or direct preparation of time/motion studies; evaluate and initiate orders for new machinery and equipment required for production process; confer with engineering personal on design changes, tooling and new product development programs; support other facility processes such as Operational Excellence (OPEX) &amp; Management System for Environmental Safety Security &amp; Health (MESH.)

b&gt;Responsibilities:

* Responsible for Maintenance of line (MOL) for all Low Voltage Control Assembly products. MOL activities include updating standard drawings and issuing of Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and product directives.

* Develop manufacturing approaches and manufacturing plans, material flow, process specification for new products and coordinate manufacturing support through the life of the product. Estimate the time required to manufacture all parts for a product line or a section based on the most economical methods developed through manufacturing planning in conjunction with methods, tools, work, plant layouts and design engineering.

* Provide engineering support to design engineers, technicians, production personnel, production managers, and others as required in order to assist in resolving shop floor production issues.

* Participate in the analysis of production problems relative to equipment, processes, documentation and methods as required. Support Lean, Six Sigma, and ProLaunch through the creation of value stream maps, process maps, standard work, Takt times, potential failure modes and effects analysis, design of experiments, control plans, and job safety analysis for production lines.

* Determine manufacturing methods and machine or line loading to product parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for new products or customer orders requiring extensive planning consistent with overall division objectives.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Education:

* Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is required.
Experience:

D. Develop test equipment specification insuring compliance with NFPA 70E and OSHA regulations to safely validate that products meets design specification and provides the necessary outputs to control the process.
E. Ensure test equipment is fabricated to design specification and any applicable safety requirements.
F. Develop software for test equipment functionality including a working program that ensures proper test equipment functionality.
G. Evaluate machine / equipment alternatives for replacement or addition to manufacturing facilities.
H. Work with suppliers to ensure accurate quotation of equipment that satisfies price, delivery and technical adequacy requirements.
I. Participate and/or conduct run-off of new machines / equipment to ensure process capability and MESH compliance. Run-offs include process capability calculation or Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
J. Install, upgrade, and/or modify equipment at production facilities including test equipment, poka-yokes, and other control devices. Manage the PPE and voltage rated tools, supplies needed to safely complete test processes.
K. Develop and assist in creating or updating test procedures and methodology.
L. Perform troubleshooting and repair of production test equipment. Perform operational and fault isolation test on test systems. Develop diagnostic systems to minimize the troubleshooting requirements.
M. Manage project work to meet project timelines and completion of ProLaunch, DFSS, and other project deliverables.
N. Provide training including electrical safe work practice and operation of test equipment to operators and technicians as appropriate.
O. Work with manufacturing, MESH and Quality engineering functions, product design engineering, suppliers, and customers as needed.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) ? Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution required.
? Minimum of 3 years experience in electrical and/or test system engineering required.
? Licensed or certified professional engineer in a requirement.
? Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.


Position Criteria:
? Electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and test system equipment design background.
? Experience designing and supporting test systems based on PC and PLC systems, especially for a manufacturing environment.
? Experience with digital communication systems such as shop floor or component data links.
? Experience with sensing technologies. In addition, familiarity with motors and motion control technology.
? Excellent working knowledge of LabVIEW is required. Also, a working knowledge of TestStand is preferred.
? Familiar with manufacturing process development, pFMEAs, and control plans.
? Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and statistical analysis.

D. Drive utilization of a problem solving methodology (DOE, 8-D, A-3) in the manufacturing engineering team to define true root cause and process prevention based corrective action.
E. Improve implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and utilization of Six Sigma methodologies to develop and maintain robust manufacturing processes in order to increase productivity, reduce variation, eliminate waste, and minimize assembly and test cycle times.
F. Serves as the team representative, focal point, and leader to all internal and external customers.
