Job Description Eaton Corporation in Belmond, IA has an opening for a Machine Operators on 2nd and 3rd shift. Operators setup, operate, and maintain production machinery to perform close tolerance operations of any of following: shearing, friction welding, heat-treating, grinding, turning, drilling, or plating.

The essential functions of the position are as follows:

-Reads job instructions and/or blue prints to produce required finishes on valves.
-Operates production equipment according to guidelines and in a safe manner. Practice good housekeeping.
-Performs set-ups and minor maintenance of equipment. -Troubleshoots equipment when required.
-Monitor oil and coolant levels of machines.
-Moves product from previous operation to next operation.
Adjusts machines, tooling, and wheels to keep product within specified tolerances per job instructions.
-Completes production documentation (first piece approvals, routing tags, scrap tickets, etc.) accurately and neatly.
-Uses specified gages to insure proper product tolerances.
Where required, performs SPC on specified dimensions.
-Follow reaction plan per job instructions if specified quality levels are not met.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

Position Criteria:
- Understanding of how to use precision gauging instruments
- Ability to proactively work with other team members
- This position requires standing and/or walking for an entire eight – twelve hour shift

Preferred:
- Background in machining and setting up metal working machines
- Knowledge of liquid penetrate testing
- Proven ability to run a machine with multiple settings or specifications

Job Description Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for a Machine Operator -2nd shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspects parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using the appropriate measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gages and comparators.

Interprets specifications and blueprints, holding close tolerances, inspection and acceptance of parts as a certified operator.

Performs first article inspection and in-process quality checks.

Requires use of all common fabrication equipment and inspection tooling/gauges.

Optimizes production by performing secondary work such as running multiple machines, deburring, vibratory, and any hand work as well as preparing for the next job, organizing and cleaning the cell, and performs preventive maintenance and?helping others while machines are running.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma required.
Some experience in machining, deburring, honing or lapping aerospace parts preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds often.
Must be prequalified to work on defense projects, per the state department ITAR regulations.


Position Criteria:

Familiar with machines tools, production methods and shop practices preferred.
Ability to learn equipment and processes for fabrication of aerospace parts, produce parts in accordance with the production plans, sketches and/or verbal instructions. Ability to maintain close tolerance dimensions on critical parts.
Knowledge of dimensional measuring instrumentations and use of such tools to verify actual measurements of machined dimensions and features.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, manufacturing routings, procedures, and routers.
Good verbal and written communication skills a must.
Familiarity with SPC principles and methods.
Ability to logically solve problems and to keep assignments and projects moving in an orderly and structured fashion.
Training possible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering.
Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming.
Proficiency with computer based methods and tools.
Familiarity /experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology.
