Job Description Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles, CA has an opening for a Sr. IPT Manufacturing Engineer (Hydraulics/assembly). Primary responsibility to work with the Integrated Product Team (IPT) on new hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical aerospace products and related components with relatively little guidance, support design reviews, provide technical support, analysis, guidance of design, design to cost, producibility of design, bill of materials, tooling, process planning, manufacturing, customer, contract support, and procurement. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in either mathematical or diagram form and also deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Apply technical skills for performance resolution on new hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical aerospace products and related components with relatively little guidance: a. Design to cost (DTC), b. Standardization of similar products, c. Robustness, manufacturability and quality improvement of design.
2. Review and approve new engineering designs using the DFM methodology, which include review of standardization, capability (DFSS), capacity, producibility, ATP’s, cost analysis, lead time, capital, material and spec obsolescence, recommendation of alternate components, and engineering BOM management.
3. Compliance with ISO requirements.
4. Serve as a technical contact with internal and external customers; manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, product support, procurement and suppliers.
5. Implement performance, cost, quality and consistency improvements in products, tooling and process during and after their design phase.
6. Analyze data from returned components and implement improvements to increase the reliability of the components, minimizing the number of returned units.

8. Be prepared to work some extended hours, when necessary, to complete a task.
9. Be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate support of Eaton lean principles; teamwork, cooperation, respect, and integrity.
10. Prepare and track project budgets and schedules.
11. Prepare manufacturing/production plan for new designs, as well as existing design for which total lead-time exceeds Producibility standards.
12. Accomplishment of project objectives and completion of assigned tasks on schedule and within budget.
13. Have technical expertise on hydraulics component for assembly and testing.
14. Collaborate with peers and supervisor to determine key goals and objectives, and corresponding metrics, to be completed during a determined period (usually one year). Review and amend these actions as appropriate. Focus on timely achievement of these goals and objectives.
15. Be able to troubleshoot assemblies that fail functional test, identify root cause and drive corrective action to ensure problem is contained.
16. Proficient with CAD, PFMEA, DFSS, Lean, Cellular, VSM, and JIT concepts, and able to implement them to increase productivity and remove waste.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
-Minimum 5 years of engineering experience is required.
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hydraulic assembly and test in Aerospace
- Experience working in a cross-functional team
- Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer of hydraulic assemblies.
- Familiarity/experience with continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology.
- Familiarity with SPC principles and methods.
- Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering, a plus.
- Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming, a plus.
- Working knowledge of ISO-9001.
- Familiarity in component engineering, hydraulic testing, CAD, assembly and tool design.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement techniques.
