Job Description Eaton Corporation’s Hydraulic Systems Division of Eaton Aerospace, located in Jackson, Mississippi has an opening for a Senior Buyer.

Critical for success in this role is the ability to:

• Manage Purchase Price Variance (PPV) strategically by developing mitigation plans and strategies to provide a positive impact to overall results.
• Lead by example in the tasks required to meet departmental requirements. Assist in the training and development of personnel within the department.
• Lead RFQ creation and execution strategically aligned with corporate and local goals and objectives.
• Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers seeking mutually beneficial long term relationships.
• Participate in cross-functional teams chartered with improving supplier performance and executing corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement through the supply base.
• Familiar with ERP operations and strong Microsoft office skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects and execute accordingly.
• Lead supplier management and development activities driving continuous improvement in Eaton’s metrics and APEX goals.
• Facilitate the implementation of goals and objectives between corporate commodity management and the facility SCM team
• Leverage relationships to hold suppliers accountable to perform to Eaton’s expectations on delivery, quality and overall cost.
• Lead sourcing projects to completion.
• Proactively resolve supplier A/P issues.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Experience and Education Required:

- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Information Technology, Business, or Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical) from an accredited school.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the Supply Chain function.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.

• Knowledge of institutional problem solving tools/processes such as cycle time reduction and process improvement tools: Six Sigma DMAIC methodology, Kaizen, DOE, Pareto Charts, Statistical process control, Process mapping, Tree diagrams, Root cause analysis, Analytical software programs.
• Detailed understanding of ISO9000, QS9000, ITAR, NADCAP, and AS9001.
• Capable to Develop Value Stream Maps and Business Case Analyses.
• Strong ability to positively influence others. Creative thinker. Team Builder.
• Demonstrated success in materials, purchasing, or customer support activities.

Preferred Experience and Education:

- APICS and/or CPM certification.
- Proven capability to lead change in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/activities.
- Broad knowledge of product and manufacturing process.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Computer skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Understanding of problem solving methods (Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis).
- Knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
- Detail oriented.
