Product Line Director Medium Voltage Products Systems & Service

Location: Hengelo/Vienna

Essential Functions:

  • Lead, manage, inspire and motivate front end teams, according to new Eaton Leadership Model and growth ambitions;

  • Drive End-to-End profitable long term sales growth of the product lines under his supervision in EMEA

  • Measure and manage the product line business performance with End-to-End profitability focus according to plan and forecast

  • Define product roadmaps and realize product development based on voice of customer for new products and upgrades, transition and retire products, managing programs through PROLaunch.

  • Develop and execute the strategic direction and plans for the Product Lines, aligned with the overall business strategic direction in order to support Eaton’s growth ambition; Effectively plan a go-to-market strategy;

  • Ensure an innovation pipeline is maintained and nurtured. Assure that Eaton IP is protected (patents).

  • Define strategic pricing policies for product line, based on value pricing, and manage price realization

  • Control and drive short and long term product demand trends and market response (SIOP).

  • Optimize and propose manufacturing footprint (where to make product), and make versus buy opportunities.

  • Provide product technical support, country sales support, implementation of country sales model, product data information and product approbations and markings.

  • Drive alignment of a marketing strategy together with electrical sector marketing and global product line (GPL). Define and lead product promotion activities.

  • Stay abreast of Intellectual Property policies, emerging technology competitive trends, and competitive product analyses (tear downs, benchmarking, product comparisons).

  • Responsibility for keeping up to date software-tools needed to support growth plans such as Bidmanager, Network- Temperature calculation and Configurators across multiple product lines.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; electrical or mechanical engineering preferred; MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years product management and/or business management experience

  • 7+ years of experience managing people

  • Understanding of specific markets and products

  • Demonstrated experience in developing business strategy, planning, and budgeting, analytical skills.

  • Experience in developing product roadmaps, positioning strategy, price management, value proposition development, and product launches.

Preferred Qualifications & Other Position Criteria:

  • MBA or Master degree in marketing related studies

  • Previous sales experience

  • Experience leading complex programs in a matrix environment

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written, with the ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customers

  • Proven Leadership skills – capability of leading change in an integrated team environment across multiple global sites.

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen

  • Knowledge of systems design and application principles. Strong technical aptitude; product knowledge & strong knowledge of UL, CSA, IEC, CE, NEC standards

  • Ability to engage in highly technical sales; ability to work across divisions within Eaton Corp; Knowledge of distribution channels
