Eaton Corporation Project Leader.SCM.General in Haina, Dominican Republic

  • Provide overall leadership and direction in support of Controls and Protection Division projects. (Will include Six Sigma, Lean, Projects activities).

  • Define and lead projects and process improvements to optimize industrialization of new products into existing and/or new plants, assuring materials are procured at the lowest total cost, per specification. Acts as a liaison between SCM, plant operations, Continuous Improvement Leadership, industrialization of products, manufacturing Engineering, and financial management.

  • Support Sourcing initiatives driving results measured by lower material costs, responsive supplier performance, process and service improvements, and resultant productivity throughout the supply chain.

  • Evaluates procurement methods and recommends/implements new procedures, strategies, and /or suppliers. Perform analysis to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Lead the supplier market analysis and ensure supplier qualification for RFQ’s. Provide suppliers recommendations that provide the best value for Eaton

  • Drives cost out projects that result in savings to the bottom line

  • Lead, facilitate or execute cost reduction projects

  • Assure that materials are procured at the lowest total cost, per specifications, in an efficient manner and delivered on time

  • Assist other department process owners (Engineering, Production, Operations, and Finance) in identifying and prioritizing opportunities to improve productivity, cost, quality and service throughout the external supply chain.

  • Ensure compliance to all purchasing policies and exhibit excellent Ethical behavior

  • Key Performance metrics include but are not limited to:

a. Achieve Sourcing Savings and cost competiveness goals

b. Minimizing Material Inflation Impact

c. Payment terms and other responsiveness measures as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry

  • English Level: Proficient

  • Has Project Management functional knowledge expertise combined with a strong process and system thinking mindset in order to consistently make quality operational decisions when ambiguity may exist

  • Advanced PC skills (MS Office, MS Project, AS400 MS Outlook)

  • Preferred: Experience in controlling costs, materials warehouse, APICS, Quality Systems , document control system and / or area of Manufacturing. Knowledge of MAPICS / Vista

  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Negotiation skills
