Eaton Corporation Field Application Engineer in Gyor, Hungary

  • Liaise directly with customer’s engineering teams to develop new products and lead modifications of existing products (custom solutions). The team provide a key link to the customer throughout the design life cycle.

  • Give technical advice via telephone, email and directly at customer sites to develop an understanding of the customer’s specific application requirements and support fuse and switch selection.

  • Build and maintain relationships with the sales team across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, leading technical discussions and solving customer problems.

  • Liaise with Product Managers and New Product Development Engineering to ensure that the customer’s product and test requirements are considered throughout the design lifecycle.

  • Support and develop programs and promotional activities to strengthen market position in segments such as Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Renewable Energy.

  • Research market trends within the electrical industry and identify opportunities to develop products to open up new opportunities.

  • Develop advanced technical knowledge of fuse technology to produce and deliver training packages to customers and internal stakeholders to further their understanding of the product.

  • Provide support for the maintenance of the product literature on a technical level, including printed and electronic formats.

  • Travel will be required up to 25% of the time to take part in face to face meetings at our customer’s sites located across EMEA, our engineering facility in Leicestershire in the United Kingdom, and to represent Eaton at industry trade events.

Qualifications

To be successful the candidate will need knowledge of electrical theory with an ability to develop specialist knowledge of design and operation of fuses and the equipment application that they protect. Educational qualification of BSc, preferably in an Electrical subject (Mechanical, Physics and maths could also be considered) or demonstrable equivalent experience is required.

The role requires daily contact with customers and internal stakeholders located across the EMEA region therefore excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

Previous experience within a field engineering role would be desirable.
