Eaton Corporation Quality Supervisor in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Eaton in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring for a Quality Supervisor.

Position Overview:

Reports to the plant quality manager. Establishes, coordinates and maintains quality assurance standards and procedures; collects, computes, analyzes and reports said quality data as statistical records; conducts required quality testing and develops quality program plans in accordance with supplier, customer, and contract specifications.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Provide direction and guidance to personnel in accordance with overall schedules to meet production and budget requirements.

  • Communicate with management and production planning to insure that scheduled requirements are adhered to production and customer requirements.

  • Ensure corrective actions are completed in timely manner

  • Responsible for activities related to nonconforming material through participation on the Preliminary Review, Material Review, and Corrective Action Boards.

  • Participate in Quality Management initiatives. Coordinate efforts throughout the plant/division with regard to policies and procedures which define the Quality System.

  • Participate in third party and customer audits of the Quality System.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce internal and external process variation, drive down costs and improve throughput.

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of procedures and work instructions for the various functions in Quality Control.

  • Assist in reducing cost of non-conformance: scrap, warranty, rework, premium freight.

  • Assure plant quality measures are met in areas of defective parts per million and final inspection rejections

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a quality role

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), have been granted Political Asylum, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training and/or experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor.

  • Experience with quality systems applications (ISO/QS9000, Boeing D1-9000, Mil-Q-9858, etc.) is preferred. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations a plus. Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

  • Employee should be able to lead complex problem solving projects and demonstrate the ability to apply all the commonly used statistical tools, such as MSA, SPC, DOEs, etc, across organizational boundaries and functions.
