Eaton Corporation Senior Engineer in Glenolden, Pennsylvania

Eaton’s Fluid Electrical Distribution Division is seeking a Senior Engineer. The Senior Engineer will be based out of our Glenolden, PA location.

Positon Overview:

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for coordinating multi-disciplined engineering projects from design to implementation in accordance with the company policies. The Senior Engineer will manage the execution of development projects of Debris Monitoring and Fluid Accessories for aerospace and adjacent market application. Defines system and component specification, scope of work, risk management plans. Conducts / coordinates project team in engineering analysis, calculations, verification and production supports. Coordinates activities of the engineering team, interfaces with Program Managers, the rest of the organization, customer and suppliers. Responsible for the execution of the development projects within cost and schedule. Ensures that all requirements are met.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Implements project plan with the objective to meet the requirements within cost and schedule. Requirement Management: Reviews customer specification. Defines system / component specification. Ensures scope of work is within specification. Identifies out-of-scope changes.

  • Project Engineer: Working with multi-discipline project team (Mechanical, Electrical and Software) in all aspects of development. Contributes effort to project milestones / objectives.

  • Knowledge: Apply working knowledge in mechanical design (CAD), GD&T, structural / thermal analysis, material & finish, Design and Verification, Six Sigma, 8D, system engineering, project scheduling and budgeting, customer & supplier management and technical proposal writing to support project team. Summarizes, publishes and shares useful engineering lesson’s learned knowledge to organization.

  • Customers: Works closely with customers throughout development phases. Prepare and conduct internal and external design reviews. Clearly communicates with customers of design changes, engineering analyses, requirement compliances, and impacts of project schedule / cost, etc. Capable of aligning customer’s needs with organization’s capabilities.

  • Supply chain: Works closely with supply chain throughout development phases. Identifies critical process in early development stage and helps suppliers to establish and validate the process. Ensures supplier’s process meets configuration control requirements.

  • Cost-out: Supporting product improvement and cost reduction initiatives throughout the development. Provides “hands on” support to supply chain, manufacturing, assembly, and test labs when developing prototype and production hardware.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 1 year of mechanical design and project engineering in the Aerospace, Automotive, or Medical Device or regulated industries.

  • Minimum of 1 year in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical product development experience.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles from the facility will be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering

  • New Product Design and Development experience

  • Catia, Pro E, Cero, Microsoft Office or Auto Cad experience

  • Experience with any of the following areas: stress analysis, seal design, material and process, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, casting, requirement management, magnetic properties, thermal analysis, Design for Six Sigma
