Eaton Corporation Environmental Health & Safety Manager in Glenolden, Pennsylvania

Eaton’s Fluid and Electrical Distribution Division is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager. The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will be based at our Glenolden, PA facility.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate ensures plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation EHS mandates. Directs EHS activities at the specified site; establishes EHS objectives and targets; manages interfaces with the public and governmental authorities; directs actions during crises; site security and emergency response; assures accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; maintains site ISO certification; assures closures of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; completion of required training for EHS personnel; creates a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides environmental, health, safety, and security leadership to the Site.

  • Facilitates risk assessment at low/med risk site based on advance knowledge of regulatory requirements.

  • Establishes and directs development and achievement of EHS objectives and targets.

  • Maintains site certifications, ensures accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics and closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings, manages intermediate communication with public/government authorities.

  • Directs actions during crises. Facilitates risk assessment at site based on advance knowledge of regulatory requirements.

  • Determines leading/lagging indicators to track performance. Supports creation of goals for the site manager and appropriate goals for leadership team, functional managers, and supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.

  • Works with leadership team and MESH element champions to complete annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, local regulations.

  • Drives and promotes a zero incident safety culture throughout site.

  • Uses established EHS data processes such as MESH Suite to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information.

  • Creates training matrices to ensure that all training is defined and tracked to completion.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.

  • Minimum 3 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene from an accredited institution.

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 5 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience.

  • ISO 14001 experience.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Position Criteria:

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft office suite applications.

  • Ability to work with diverse groups.

  • Ability to drive process improvements, get results, and drive change through others.

  • Experience with day-to-day application of Federal and state laws, OSHA and EPA regulations as well as MESH and worker's compensation.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated Knowledge of ISO standards, industry regulations / processes related to EHS (e.g. OSHA, ISO 14001, MESH, VPP, etc.).
