Job Description This Plant Manager position is responsible for the overall leadership, management and P&L of the aerospace manufacturing plant in Gilching (Bayern) with approx. 70 employees. Overall responsibility for leading plant teams in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost and employee safety goals. Provides leadership to all functional and service groups to meet customer requirements. Drives performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals. Leverages resources and motivates personnel to maintain a high performance culture.
Essential functions:
- Manages and directs all operations activities to ensure completion of customer requirements
- Assesses performance indicators and takes appropriate actions to ensure schedule, cost and quality goals are met
- Provides for prudent investment into training and development, capital equipment and technology development to assure organizational, manufacturing, product and market leadership
- Assures policies, procedures and other documentation are established to provide for consistent and professional operation of all organizational functions
- Provides leadership and commitment in support of continuing improvements in quality, productivity and delivery performance
- Leads product design organization through new product introduction phase to ensure customer product development and manufacturing delivery times are met
- Assures that Environmental, Health, and Safety issues are addressed considering local regulations, Eaton policy and good corporate citizenship
- Develops and maintains innovative and effective cost reduction programs throughout operations
- Evaluates operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
- Develops budgets and resource plans and monitors performance to achieve product delivery and financial requirements
- Coordinates and assists with corporate initiatives, participating on teams in order to drive best practices across Eaton Corporation
- Guides the customer service group in order to facilitate the value selling process. Also in this case directly interacts with the customers
- Build up good relationship with the major customers
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, additional MBA preferred
- Through knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic
- Detailed Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations and shipping/receiving
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
- Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilized to establish value propositions of operational changes
- Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams
- Multiple years of related professional and supervisory/managerial experience
- Hands-on mentality
- Strong leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in German and English
- Intimate customer knowledge
