Eaton Corporation VAVE Manager in Galesburg, Michigan
Eaton’s Vehicle Division is seeking a VAVE Manager. The VAVE Manager will be based in Galesburg, MI.
The VAVE Manager will be responsible for leading\managing a group that creatively designs and/or develops economical and technical solutions to achieve value analysis/value engineering objectives. Ability to lead larger scale engineering projects. Provide technical direction to the team as required. Assumes ownership of projects and drives them to completion.
Apply technical expertise to design, develop, and manage new products or re-design and develop current products. Apply established engineering processes to complete project requirements. Lead engineering process improvement
Generate and executes ideas to improve product performance and reduce product cost through application of new technologies, materials and manufacturing processes.
Execute technical deliverables within the PROLaunch development process. Lead completion of technical deliverables at the “Major Repeater” risk classification and potentially function as the Program Manager for smaller “runner” projects.
Develop and implement design requirements, specifications, and guidelines as well as test procedures and plans.
Manage and conduct design reviews to monitor and report project activity, and serve as design review lead for other projects within the engineering department.
Develop and apply statistical and analytical tools and models towards effective problem-solving and completion of project activities. Resolve technical issues based on engineering and root cause analysis.
Lead new component/system design development with external suppliers, establishing technical requirements and criteria for achievement while managing the groups budget.
Obtain, communicate, and include the needs of plants, OEMs, end users, and other functional groups while managing new product requirements.
Direct and support other engineering resources for timely completion of project objectives.
Utilize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Enovia tool for product changes. Communicate product changes to plants, OEMs, and other functional groups.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
Proficient in design of machine elements, electro-mechanical system analysis, driveline knowledge, and analytical modeling.
7-10 years’ experience in/or strong knowledge of, heavy-duty truck or automotive drivetrain/powertrain systems and/or components.
DFSS Black Belt certification.
Advanced understanding of driveline functionality and components.
Individual must possess good statistical analysis skills in the mechanical or electrical discipline.
Working knowledge of project management processes.
Demonstrated advanced mechanical or electrical design capability on components and integration into complex assembled such as transmissions or other driveline components.
Demonstrated experience successfully executing new product development projects through implementation.
Demonstrated experience applying DFSS tools and methodology. DFSS Green Belt certification.
Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate with all project stakeholders
