Eaton Corporation Team Leader (3rd Shift) in Forest City, North Carolina

Eaton located in Forest City, NC has an opening for a Production Team Leader to work on 3rd Shift

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Various operator duties

  • Supports the daily operational activities of production work cells and ensures that the routine daily operations are productive and safe

  • Provides assistance with maintaining a professional, clean and healthy work environment consistent with established policies and procedures

  • Monitors and manages hourly employees

  • Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Update daily reports and track progress and cell team boards

  • Correct cause for variances to goal or escalate to supervisor

  • Scrap or suspect materials

  • Equipment failure or downtime

  • Training or employee issues

  • Ensure startups, shutdowns and changeovers are well planned and efficient

  • Provide technical support to the area of responsibility

  • Lead shift change meetings to provide direction to team in order to maximize safety, production, quality, delivery and efficiency

  • Lead and support the production supervisor in planning and directing manufacturing activities

  • Assist to ensure all operators are trained and qualified to perform their duties

  • Support the Continuous Improvement leaders and lead continuous improvement activities where necessary

  • Provide leadership and direction in the utilization of Lean tools, including auditing and standard work

  • Conduct necessary training to ensure safe and quality production activities

  • Provide input to the production supervisor in regards to performance management

  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment through effective housekeeping, 5S and TPM practices

  • Follow all plant, safety, and environmental rules and regulations

  • Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Model the Eaton ethical conduct policy, the Eaton Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable.

  • Fills in when Manufacturing Supervisor is absent.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR actively/currently pursuing a Bachelor’s program within the past year from an accredited institution.

  • Must be legally Authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Forest City, NC facility will be considered.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in leading and providing directions to others

  • Strong technical knowledge of area

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments

  • Ability to act as a change agent and support teambuilding

  • Effective leadership and interpersonal communication skills

  • Good problem-solving, prioritization and decision-making skills

  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office applications, MFG-Pro, etc
