Eaton Corporation Financial Analyst in Coamo, Puerto Rico

Primary Function: State the primary function or overall purpose of your position.

  • This position will be responsible to perform payroll functions for hourly and salary employees and will provide support in the cost accounting / inventory areas. Also, will analyze monthly financial transactions and booking information according to EATON Financial Policy requirements.

  • Payroll & benefits accruals and analysis (Sick, Health, Worker’s Compensation, Xmas bonus, etc.) - Balance Sheet Review Reconciliation

  • Labor reclassifications (cost of quality journal entries)

  • Inter-company cross charges & deposits journal entries

  • Health and other benefits analysis

  • Service accruals and analysis

  • GL26 Batch Error Correction

  • RSD Schedules in Encore (ME04A, YE02, YE01).

  • Print and file GL's, Journal Entries, Financial Statements and Journal Status

  • Service Tax monthly reconciliation and payment processing including analysis of payment register to identify service providers.

  • AP On Holds Report Analysis and follow up.

  • Employment verifications.

  • Process Garnishments payments and communicate by phone with US & PR agencies for follow up.

  • Process Debit Memos to the Financial Services Center.

  • Process/send direct deposit forms.

  • Mail deposits to lock box.

  • Process/Send Manual Checks.

  • Prepare Quarterly Filings.

  • Process and validate Hourly & Salary payroll.

  • Send invoices to Financial Service Center and follow up for proper payment applications.

  • Submit Check Requests for services

  • Preparation of Overtime and Meal Penalty Report

  • Special year end payrolls processing and validation.

  • Prepare and analyze State Insurance Fund (annual workers compensation)

  • Provide requirements to comply with internal SOX audit as well as external audits.

  • Benefits analysis withholding versus employee applicable benefits.

  • Intercompany payable / receivable reconciliations, analysis and follow up with counterpart.

  • 21020 monthly account reconciliation

  • Cost accounting / Inventory back up

  • Develop Product Costing for new products

  • Back up L’Orders System - Review / Approval / JE’s

  • Profit Plan process - report preparation, operational / financial review and variance analysis for payroll and benefits accounts

  • Month-end closing process – Financial review and variance analysis.

  • Ensures compliance with all Financial Policies

  • Promote an atmosphere of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting.

  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of accounting and inventory experience.

  • Communication Skills (English and Spanish)

  • Business Acumen

  • Analytical Skills

  • Confidentiality is a must have

Major or Unusual Problems: Briefly describe a few of the most complex problems encountered in achieving your position’s primary function.

  • Not receiving the hourly / salary payroll information on time

  • AS400 communication problems

  • OTL System

  • Oracle issues / Mapics receipts.

  • Inter-company differences with counterpart.

  • On time payment processing by the FSC requiring extreme follow ups.

  • Deviation to standard AP invoices on hold and payment processing requiring analytical thinking and root cause analysis.
