- Responsible for the overall execution of complex component and/or system programs in accordance with the Eaton Aerospace PROLaunch process.

- Works with the Group sales &amp; marketing team to propose and capture new business opportunities for the product family.

- Assumes market segment ownership with respect to profitability and growth.

- Ensures new opportunities presented to the business by the group sales and marketing team are evaluated for business opportunity and risk.

- Supports/leads the proposal team during new bid opportunities.

Position Criteria :

- Sales and engineering experience with recognized project management ability, team leadership and supervisory skills, and progressive project responsibility.

This position will lead an engineering team performing conceptual design, development and qualification of hydraulic valves, actuators and reservoirs for various commercial and military applications, including nose wheel steering, landing gear control, general aircraft hydraulic systems. Successful candidates will be able to independently lead a major project from initial design conception through the design phases, up to and including qualification and transition to production. The position requires the use of six sigma tools to ensure project success and may involve use of some earned value tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Lead teams engaged in any or all of the activities below. Provide mentorship, technical advice, and oversight to component design engineers locally and at other Eaton or vendor sites, locally and globally.
2. Estimate labor/material budgets for new and scope change proposals. Establish design-to-cost (DTC) models and track configurations to DTC compliance per company practices.
3. Establish technical work breakdown structures and budget estimates in conjunction with Program Management and Engineering Resource Managers. Manage progress to engineering task plans and schedules through the project, including variance analysis of earned value metrics as appropriate.
4. Develop appropriate allocations, and design margin strategy, of system requirements to component attributes including derived characteristics. Assist in review and refinement of system or component specifications. Develop and maintain specification compliance data throughout the product development life cycle.
5. Lead component development by identifying potential weak points, and develop solutions based on engineering judgment, inputs from Eaton experts, customer, suppliers and other engineers. Apply engineering knowledge and 3D modeling skills to develop designs compliant with internal and external standard practices.
6. Develop, execute, and manage a risk management plan including risk mitigation tasks. Solve technical problems with products and designs; drive teams to efficiently and effectively execute problem solving assignments.
7. Lead the team in utilizing six sigma tools (especially design for six sigma) to ensure that critical to quality measures are defined and tracked through the design and validation process. Conduct reviews to ensure that design variability and process capability are understood and defined in design documentation.
8. Prepare technical presentations for internal and external customers, including preliminary/critical design reviews and other reviews as required.
9. Participate in and lead meetings with the customer and other engineers, distributing the results to the development team and coordinating actions as necessary. Ensure information flow within the local Eaton team, with other Eaton sites (locally and globally), and contractor teams as appropriate to facilitate work flow, efficiency and quality of work results delivered to the customer
10. Prepare or approve SDRL documents, including analysis reports, certification reports etc.
11. Participate in the component/system qualification process in conjunction with the Eaton and outside test laboratories.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Criteria:

Ability to understand system and customer specifications, layouts and functions, and the interfaces to other platform systems.

Familiarity with manufacturing and ability to work closely with manufacturing engineers to make use of process capability data in design.

Good written, oral and presentation skills, leadership qualities and the ability to work well with customers and development team members.

Job Description Eaton Corporation’s Aerospace facility in Irvine, CA has an opportunity for a Sr. Buyer to support the Supply Chain organization.

This person will purchase materials and services, obtaining maximum value in terms of price, quality and delivery. They are also responsible for planning material flow to insure minimum investment while insuring high levels of support to Program Managers. They will support the purchasing team in a coordinated effort to manage exceptions and achieve plant, division and individual goals and support strategies and issues related to plant operations


Essential Functions may include:

• Develop and oversee the implementation of purchasing strategies to support New Programs schedules while controlling costs. Partner with Program Managers and Engineering in the selection of suppliers for new products
• Communicate material quality and delivery change requirements to suppliers in an MRP environment.
• Develop and maintain plans to obtain department and division cost improvements and objectives.
• Participate in problem-solving efforts to resolve rejections, supplier corrective actions and receiving griefs.
• Coordinate material requirements with production schedules, customer requirements and provide feedback to scheduling and management as required.
• Participate in the supplier reduction program.
• Engage in continuous improvement activities.
• Proactively resolve supplier invoicing issues.
• Attend daily production meeting to provide material parts status.
• Create RFQ’s and place purchase orders to support material demand requirements.
• React to MRP messages to ensure material supply is aligned to system demand.
• Proactively resolve Supplier quality issues that may arise.
• Prepare material status sheets, milestones, schedules and presentations as required to support new program meetings.

Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Develop and execute a Continuous Improvement Strategy for the Aerospace Group through a standardized approach to the Eaton Business System. Provides direct support to the Manufacturing Operations, and functional support to other Aerospace teams in the deployment of continuous improvement tools and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Develop and execute the Continuous Improvement strategy for the Aerospace Group utilizing the Eaton Business System and ensuring alignment with the Aerospace business strategy and the Industrial Sector Operations Excellence functional strategy.
B. Create a Continuous Improvement culture across Manufacturing Operations through deployment of a standardized lean management system and a standardized approach to ELSS. Drive consistent application of key business processes and tools including BPI activities. Establish a formal process for standardizing best practices and create virtual Communities of Practice (COPs) to leverage functional knowledge across the organization.
C. Establish a broad functional competency around Continuous Improvement through deployment of a CI functional organization. Increase the depth of CI subject matter experts while significantly expanding the level of CI resources within the manufacturing sites. Ensure functional requirements are integrated with the business operating plans and strategies.
D. Develop a CI culture within the function built on Lean Management and servant leadership concepts and coach the Aerospace leadership on development of these competencies
E. Expand the CI function to include technical manufacturing resources across the business (Lean engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers) and leverage this group in the deployment of CI tools, new manufacturing processes, capital managements, etc.
F. Lead the development, implementation and use of the Balanced Score Card (BSC), Business Operating System (BOS) and Enterprise Performance Management EPM) tools by all Manufacturing Operations and functional leaders.
G. Interface with Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement leaders at the Corporate, Sector, Group and Division level. Lead consistent deployment of Corporate and Sector CI initiatives through the business.
H.  Create and execute engagement based training plans to deploy Continuous Improvement tools across the organization.
I. Coordinate EBE, ELSS and MESH assessments across the business and manage gap closure plans. Work with leadership team to eliminate cyclical improvement activates driven by a assessments and ingrain EBE into the management system for the business.
J. Continually assess and improve the capability of the Continuous Improvement function through ongoing group development activities, management of individual talent and OCA actions to move CI talent across the organization.
K. Assist site leadership teams, division operations directors, SCM leaders, Quality leaders and other functional managers in deployment of CI tools to improve specific operational performance or customer satisfaction issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•   Demonstrated ability to drive results through deployment of improvement initiatives across a large organization.
• Working knowledge of Eaton business Excellence (EBE) criteria and experience in deployment of the Eaton Business System, or equivalent, and supporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiar with major Aerospace primes Quality System, as well as working knowledge of AS9100. Working knowledge of Six Sigma tools.

4. Develop appropriate allocations, and design margin strategy, of system requirements to component attributes including derived characteristics. Assist in review and refinement of system or component specifications. Develop and maintain specification compliance data throughout the product development life cycle.
5. Lead component development by identifying potential weak points, and develop solutions based on engineering judgment, inputs from Eaton experts, customer, suppliers and other engineers. Apply engineering knowledge and 3D modeling skills to develop designs compliant with internal and external standard practices.
6. Develop, execute, and manage a risk management plan including risk mitigation tasks. Solve technical problems with products and designs; drive teams to efficiently and effectively execute problem solving assignments.
7. Lead the team in utilizing six sigma tools (especially design for six sigma) to ensure that critical to quality measures are defined and tracked through the design and validation process. Conduct reviews to ensure that design variability and process capability are understood and defined in design documentation.
8. Prepare technical presentations for internal and external customers, including preliminary/critical design reviews and other reviews as required.

Over 50% travel may be required. The individual must be able to temporarily relocate to any global customer location for extended periods of three to six months.

1. Ability to define a hydraulic system architecture including redundancy / backup systems through trade studies that optimize system reliability, weight and cost. - FAA regulations (including Advisory Circulars) and SAE Technical Standards that influence hydraulic system requirements and capabilities;

Duties and Responsbilities:

- Working knowledge of ISO-9001.
- Familiarity in component engineering, hydraulic testing, CAD, assembly and tool design.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement techniques.

Job Description Eaton Corporation's Aerospace Group has an opening for a Finance Manager supporting our Hydraulics Systems Division. This position will be based in Irvine, CA.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Leads Divisional Manufacturing Operations Finance activities including achievement of plant and divisional operational performance targets (e.g., balanced score card metrics) including cost, efficiency and working capital metrics and to drive analysis and decision making support for operational planning and management. Report, analyze and recommend actions to improve performance, implement standard processes and strengthen financial controls.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
A. Direct manufacturing operations financial analysis and reporting to support project and operational reviews. (i.e. monthly BOS reviews, sourcing decisions, annual profit plan, monthly rolling forecasts and other performance measurement needs)
B. Provide direct support to the Director of Operations, including analysis of Division manufacturing operations financial performance, and developing strategic manufacturing analysis and recommendations.
C. Ensure plant compliance with internal controls requirements including receiving and shipping cut-offs, cycle counting and physical inventories, excess &amp; obsolete inventory and warranty financial treatment, and other operations-related activities.
D. Review, analyze and approve all capital appropriation requests (CAR’s) to understand and ‘sign-off’ on the financial justification of the project; present projects to management.
E. Monitor and report the progress of capital spending to original plan, and the status of appropriations in review. Review post-project audits submitted by the plants and prepare final &amp; interim post audits for divisional projects.
F. Develop manufacturing operations guidelines and targets to support timely and credible annual profit plan and monthly rolling forecast submissions.
G. Representing the Finance function, serve as a key member on multi-functional process improvement teams.
H. Prepare financial analysis as needed to support management in decision making process (make vs. buy, terms analysis, etc.)
I. Analyze trends and provide early warnings guidance on potential risks &amp; opportunities to the Division operating performance; make recommendations to management to solve or avoid risks and realize opportunities.
J. Provide on-the-ground financial support for manufacturing operations issues or identified gaps at Divisional sites.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA, CMA/CIMA or CPA desirable.
• Experience in aerospace, foreign exchange, and transfer pricing would be preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication and computer skills
• Knowledge of accounting principles – GAAP.
• Knowledge of financial and managerial accounting.
• Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 5 years accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing plant environment
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
