Performs emergency and preventive maintenance and installation of Eaton products like UPS up to 500kVA / Medium Voltage Cells / Recloser / Electrical Panels, on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility. Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing, and repair of Company product(s). Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Serves as customer contact on technical and service related problems. Works on assignments that are complex in nature when considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
Knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques, STS and PDU and large UPS.
Ability to provide technical assistance for the CSEs and customers in the areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modifications.
Ability to understand the critical customer’s electrical distribution systems in order to assist with power quality related problems
Follows all safety requirements while on customer's site This includes pre-job Lockout/Tagout procedures, applicable work permits, proper PPE, setting up safety barriers, etc.
Keep current with product technology and continue improvement of personal, technical and professional business skills in order to service products to the customer’s satisfaction.
Demonstrated ability to provide service, deal with commercial situations and develop a customer following while representing the company interests to assure long-term customer relationships.
Assure that all service equipment (vehicles, test equipment, tools, etc.) meet calibration specifications, and that these items are in good working condition
Functions as an effective, contributing member of the service engineering and quality teams to help solve problems and improve processes and meet annual goals
Maintain good working relationship with the Company sales representatives or agents, and assist them when needed to help with customer issues or opportunities
Ability to assist sales personnel with job walks to determine manpower requirements and special site requirements
Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings and company technical publications
Good understanding of 1phase and 3phase circuit theory, analog and digital electronic circuit theory and microprocessor controls, programming and field processes
Completes all assigned tasks including field activity reports, manages assets, completes CSS and submits expenses reports in a timely manner and maintains professional conduct and dress at customer sites
Takes ownership of an assigned task and see it through to a successful completion
Understands need for safety and comply with company and customer rules on safety
Associates Degree/Certification or equivalent
Years of on-job UPS servicing
Understands how to use Oscilloscope, VOM/multi-meter and clamp-on ammeters
Understands how to perform phase rotation and phase alignment checks
Understands the proper use of hand-tools, and when it is appropriate to use insulated tools
Basic understanding of electric installations, mechanics, air conditioning
Basic understanding of network functionality and sealed and wet celled battery theory and application
PC Proficiency including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, and Outlook
Attentive to details, and focus on customer satisfaction
Valid Driver license with no restrictions
Valid electricity installations safety and health training certificate according to each Country legislation
Intermediate English skills
