Engineering Manager Signaling & Logic - Firmware (m/f)

Location: Bonn, Germany

Essential Functions:

  • Managing of responsibilities within the assigned team of engineers, develop and continuously improve organizational capabilities of the team

  • Host engineering domain functions for firmware development

  • Staff main projects (new product development, maintenance, advanced development, platform)

  • Active deployment of platform artifacts

  • Ownership of the related development processes Promotes and supports continuous improvement of processes and innovations

  • Utilize the Eaton PreLaunch, ProLaunch and EBS systems actively

  • Achieve the technical- and customer requirements as well as standards, legal requirements, other requirements and also the quality in close collaboration with the Quality-departments

  • Ensure engineering tasks e.g. requirement- and change-management including managing of FMEA- (Failure Mode and Effects and Criticality Analysis) and lesson learned measures. For guidance use: DFSS (Design for Six Sigma), SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination)/ CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration).

  • Close collaboration with the Eaton engineering departments also outside ICPD

  • Business trips, temporarily project work at international Eaton locations

  • Lead engineering projects and work package approvals to meet financial goals and growth targets in close collaboration with engineering project managers and specialist engineers

  • Strong collaboration with product management and technology departments to drive innovation

  • Build organizational capability in the assigned team to ensure a robust pipeline of diverse talent to capitalize on opportunities

  • Drive results in the assigned team while creating and fostering a safe work environment and living the EBS

  • Demonstrate Eaton’s values and philosophy with every action and every decision in combination of recognizing the value of different perspectives and culture for the ICPD-Engineering organization

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in informatics / electronics / mechatronic

  • No less than 5 years work-experience in Electric/Electronic business in the industrial field or other comparable technical industries

  • No less than 2 years leadership experience

  • Awareness of process maturity models (SPICE or CMMi)

  • First experience with functional driven and architecture based development

  • First experience with functional safety (e.g. IEC 61508)

  • First experience with cyber security

  • Experience in firmware development

  • Experience in C, C++, RTOS, Linux, industrial communication

  • Experience in collaboration with distributed development teams at different international locations

  • First experience with Scrum

  • Development of new innovative products and improvement of existing products

  • Problem solving skills

  • Fluently German and English (oral and written)
