Eaton is hiring for a Senior Buyer – Aerospace Repair Station.

Responsible for procurement of specialized items and executing buying complex strategies in accordance with agreed upon material buying plans at the optimum cost/quality relationship. Analyzes market and industry conditions and develops supply recommendations. Negotiates select contracts. Interviews sales representatives and vendors. Plan material flow to insure minimum investment while insuring high levels of customer service. Support purchasing team in a coordinated effort to manage exceptions and achieve plant, Division and individual goals. Support strategies and issues related to plant operations.

  • Develop, support, and oversee the implementation of purchasing strategies.

  • Maintain control of the supply chain and deal with the quality and delivery challenges associated with rapidly changing requirements in development programs

  • Assist commodity group with activities to include LTAs, cost reductions, gate review for new suppliers, and supplier rationalization

  • Develop and maintain plan to obtain department/division cost improvements objectives

  • Participate in problem-solving efforts to resolve rejections (MRB) and supplier corrective action teams.

  • Interface with customer procurement personnel to align schedules and resolve issues

  • Coordinate material requirements with production schedules, customer requirements and provide feedback to scheduling and management.

  • Coordinate inventory planning activities working toward plant goals

  • Champion ERP initiatives

  • Lead/participate in the supplier reduction program based on a total cost model

  • Engage/lead in continuous improvement activities

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in manufacturing required

  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in United States without company sponsorship

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the Beltsville facility will be considered

  • All positions require use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in arms regulations. All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of work experience in purchasing

  • APICS professional certification (preferred)

  • Working knowledge of Quality Systems, and Mil-Stds.

  • High-level computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
