Eaton Corporation is looking to hire a System Architect for our Peachtree City GA location.
The System Architect owns the technical responsibility for the overall design architecture of the connected home system and solutions. Working jointly with the Solution/Product Management, the architect is responsible for defining the system’s high-level functionality, analyzing technical tradeoffs, determining the major components and subsystems, and defining the interaction between each of these subsystems and the end user. In order to be successful the architect must fully understand the context of the ecosystem and must work closely with customers, suppliers and the development teams to deliver outstanding solutions.
The System Architect is responsible for designing and architecting enterprise products aligned with Connected Home strategy and will be responsible for successful implementation of the Connected Home enterprise strategy and Roadmap. They will work closely with development teams or partners for delivery of high quality products from the Peachtree City, GA development centers as well as leveraging broader resources leveraging the Eaton Centers of Excellence and third party development partners. This role encompasses collaborating with all aspects of product development including the mechanical and electrical team working groups, research into new technologies and protecting our research investment by filing intellectual property. The candidate will possess excellent hands on technical and communication skills with a proven track record of delivering positive results. This architect will play a critical role in ensuring Eaton delivers a high quality product, using world class development processes, and rigorous validation testing in one of Eaton’s fastest growing business segments.
Work with product management, customers, stake holders and suppliers to define technical architecture and functional solution for both end user and enterprise control.
Work closely with the responsible Lighting Engineering leadership to ensure the connected home solutions are delivered for on-time, on-budget and on-spec to fuel the rapid growth of our connected home products.
Knowledgeable in system design of connected IoT systems or equivalent
Lead the planning, definition and high-level design of connected home ecosystem from a technical perspective.
Define technical strategies for current and future product releases using a Scaled Agile Framework.
Drive technology roadmap to identify emerging technologies for use in new product development.
Bachelor's degree in an system, electrical or software engineering discipline from an accredited institution

Minimum 5 years of experience in system, embedded firmware and/or software design
Experience in creating SW and firmware system architectures
5 years of experience in one or more of the following programming languages (C/C++/C#, Java)
1 year experience working with cloud environment (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.) and developing SaaS applications
Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Knowledge of wireless technologies e.g. BLE, ZigBee, Wi-Fi
1 year experience with messaging protocols, e.g. AMQP, MQTT, etc
Systems engineering design experience within the IoT space
SW design experience in SDK and/or API based development
Commercial electronics design experience
Experience with the Agile SW development processes and tools
Experience with data analytics and regression analysis.
Scaled Agile Framework Scrum master
Strong work ethic, flexibility, and a desire to actively contribute to the group’s success.
Proven track record of successfully designing, reviewing and delivering engineering systems
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to manage the technical aspects of sub-contracted activities
Hands on working knowledge of wide range of technologies across the IOT stack including embedded systems, network topologies, transport protocols, cloud computing, stream processing, data management, analytics, security, identity management and application development
