Job Description Eaton Corporation located in Asheville, NC has an opening for a Senior Design Engineer for the Low Voltage Assemblies product Line.
This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications.
The essential functions are:
A. Assume design responsibility for a product line. Execute all design, development, and related technical tasks required to maintain the product line.
B. Develop product designs which may require the implementation of unique solutions.
C. Initiate and prepare specifications for products, equipment, and processes while maintaining awareness and control of costs.
D. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules incorporating resource management and milestone deliverables.
E. Possess the appropriate project management skills to take the lead position on small to medium development projects.
F. Assume responsibility for appropriate testing and evaluation of products, parts, equipment, tools, and systems along with necessary corrective follow-up.
G. Be capable of writing articles for trade and technical publications, presenting papers and preparing patent disclosures.
H. Possess a working knowledge of all development/design related ISO procedures and Work Related procedures.
I. Support Plant EBS Initiatives
Position Criteria:
• Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical and electrical principals.
• Sound working knowledge of PC software programs such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and AutoCAD Inventor to utilize it for the purposes of reviewing drawings and basic sketching.
• DFSS – Design For Six Sigma
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution required.
Minium 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment; to include co-ops and internships.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
